Hohloma.

The short animation movie I made during my third year in art college.
Originally, Hohloma is is the name of a Russian wood painting handicraft style and national ornament, known for its curved and vivid mostly flower, berry and leaf patterns.
My idea was to re-innovate the craft and made something modern and dynamic.

The animation tells us about the season changing in Russia, the country I was born in. I remember (and really miss) the dramatic changing of seasons, weather, colors. The naked trees started blossoming on winter, the whole world turned green for me, than yellow and red on autumn, and then white while the trees got naked again in the end of the year.

The song "Wind of changing" which I`m singing on the background, is the song from the favorite movie of my childhood.

This movie is basically expression of my nostalgy for my young years spent in Russia, surrounded by forests, flowers and birds.
